As the oldest scientific Implantological expert association in Europe (founded in 1970), the GERMAN ASSOCIATION OF DENTAL IMPLANTOLOGY (DGZI) has not only attended the developments of oral Implantology but also established and
created significant benchmarks. Some examples are curriculum development programs, internships, supervisions, the annual international congresses, courses for surgery, specialist examinations, promotion and support of national and international research projects by the scientific DGZI advisory board as well as the presentation of the DGZI Implant Dentistry Award.
The DGZI post graduate education curriculum, is a one year program in cooperation with different universities and conducted now in English out side Germany in different countries , participants will get a certificate of German Board In Dental Implantology and this education is a prerequisite for a master degree .
At the beginning of the 1990s, DGZI began to administer an examination for particularly qualified colleagues to prove their knowledge and skills.
Some 300 specialists in Implantology throughout Germany and abroad belong to the DGZI. They have many years of experience in Implantology, have placed a large number of implants and, after undergoing comprehensive further education, they have passed the quality examination “Implantology specialist – DGZI”.
DGZI members receive the certificate “Implantology specialist – DGZI” upon successful completion of the examination. A successful examination entitles the examinee to bear the qualified designation “Implantology specialist –DGZI” and fulfillment of certain conditions.
DGZI is a non- profit organization and under its statutes, committed to quality assurance of continued / postgraduate education of dentists and practice teams in the field of implants dentistry. The specialized association established in 1970 and
thus the oldest scientific implantological association in Europe, works together with leading lecturers in the field of science and practice, more than 3,000 members are already making use of the broadly based postgraduate education program and the numerous sources of information of DGZI, another important function of DGZI is the independent and impartial information of the public about the possibilities of modern implant dentistry.
In its more than 35 year history, DGZI has set standard in practice oriented continued /postgraduate education and quality assurance in Implantology, especially for the beginners in Implant dentistry, attractive features have been developed in the past few years, the new Implantology Curriculum as comprehensive postgraduate education and the certification as “ Oral Implantology Specialist – DGZI “ have to be mentioned in this context as well as the strong international orientation or the “ open house “ day with gratuitous advice to colleagues by DGZI specialists, of late the post graduate education offered has been completed by the degree of “ Master of Science Implantology” , all these initiatives of the association executive board have ld to a marked increase in membership in the past years.
STUDY GROUPS
More than twenty regional study groups of the DGZI organize lectures, exchange experience and of course maintain social contacts among colleagues, this network is available free of the cost to all dentists of the region, gratuitous advice in technical matters is also offered by a number of DGZI specialists on the “ open house” day held on the first Wednesday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m , the current list and a study group directory are published in the Implantology journal (Implantology Journal ).
JOURNALS
The Implantology Journal, the periodical for the DGZI members, today is one of the leading specialized journals in the German language for the office –based implantologist. The eight issues per year focus on topical subjects including detailed case documentaries and examples of billing, in “ DGZI intern “ the reader finds the latest news, of course the journal also receive “ implants –International Magazine of oral Implantology “ free of charge, in many expert articles leading implantologist, most of them known internationally, inform about current trends and developments.

I am submiting my binding application concerning the participation In the mentioned education In Oral Implantology I am aware that there are additional fees to be paid for clinical cases of the training program and that neither the cost of Implants and prosthesis nor the Internship or supervision costs are Included In the course fee.
The legal contractual regulation detailed In the program brochure became the basis of this application and as such are an integral part of the contract with regard to course topics. The issues detailed in the program brochure are considered as agreed between the concered parties. However it must be again that changes and amendments beyond the scope shown there it can be made at the sole descretion of the organizers.
I will submit my examination qualification in English translation to the board of directors.

Acceptance in the program is subjected to the board of directors decision and after submitting all required documents and the payment of 700 Euros nonrefundable with application (Application fees of the GBOI are part of tuition)
